My Transformational Journey
HOW I HEALED MYSELF THROUGH REAL FOOD

I moved to the United States soon after I got married, like all other busy professionals my mornings were often rushed, I resorted to sugary cereals for breakfast, frozen/processed food for lunch and cookies and chocolates for desserts.
Coming from a tropical country, India and being away from my family; I found myself leading a more sedentary lifestyle due to the cold weather. I allowed myself to be comforted by all the wrong foods which took a toll on my health. My hormones were completely out of whack, I was constantly moody and irritable, had acne all over my face and I had gained about 30 lbs.
I researched on how to eat right and balance my hormones through real, whole- foods. I started practicing yoga and other exercises, I'm going to be honest with you, it was not easy, and I wish I had someone to keep me motivated and accountable during this arduous journey. In six months, I lost all the extra weight I’d gained. My hormones were back to normal, my acne had cleared up and I felt amazing!
My journey did not stop here, it has become a lifestyle change that my family and I have embraced forever.
This is what pushed me into exploring my options in the field of Nutrition. I received my Health Coaching training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York. Thankfully, having a masters degree in Microbiology helps me get a better understanding of a person’s genetic makeup. My work experience at Stanford Hospitals & Clinics further enhanced my skills in the field of Nutrition.
I have loved every moment of my transformational journey and I truly believe in a holistic approach to life - considering all areas of life, including food, to help tap into the body’s own ability to heal itself.
