Know Your Ingredients - WALNUTS

Hey guys, today we are going to be talking about a food that is popularly known as ‘Brain food’ and is considered one of the healthiest nuts in the world - WALNUTS

Walnuts are tree nuts that are nutrient-dense. They are encased in a protective shell that is inedible. Once you crack open this hard shell, you will see the edible portion of the nut inside that is slightly soft, nutty and a little bit bitter.



Research has also show that consuming walnuts on regular basis may help in the prevention of Alziemers.

Walnuts are a good source of antioxidants, minerals, healthy fats, fiber and amazing source of plant-based protein. Their nutrient composition has been proven to lower LDL levels or the bad cholesterol in the body.


My favorite way to include walnuts in my diet is by consuming them raw by having them as a snack. I love adding raw walnuts to my salads. I sometimes use walnuts in pesto instead of pine nuts for a slightly different flavor and texture.
